Since 2010, Blessed Sacrament Church in Hollywood has participated in a Eucharistic procession through the streets in honor of the feast of Christ the King, along with several other parishes and organizations.
In 2015, this event become known as Beloved, signifying our Lord’s act of loving solidarity with all the broken on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams, and ESNE El Sembrador became a prominent partner.
In 2016, special attention was brought to Christ’s presence in those homeless living on Hollywood Blvd., and several organizations involved with the issue of homelessness in Los Angeles became partners, especially The Center at Blessed Sacrament. This gave birth to Beloved Movement, a forum for partnerships in poverty-related discipleship and spirituality. In 2017, Pope Francis proclaimed the first World Day of the Poor, which fell on the same liturgical day as the procession, the second Sunday of November. In 2019, Blessed Sacrament opened the doors of the church to the unhoused, offering an “Urban Sanctuary” for rest and renewal.
