The Flying Squad

The Flying Squad helps the homeless by talking to them as human beings, listening to them, and then by trying to figure out, in real time, how we can help them survive life in the street and ultimately get off the street into clean, neat, and attractive little apartments of their own choosing.

An ever-larger corps of volunteers of all ages, all ethnicities, and all stations in life, The Flying Squad ranges widely throughout Los Angeles and hands out cards that say Let’s Talk — simple as that — and then follows up in person right away, on a same-day basis, when a respondent calls our number on Google Voice or emails us to begin the conversation.

There is no waiting in line to get into a building or to navigate the cubicles once inside, no filling out of forms or being subjected to an interrogation. Flying Squad volunteers are there to help every which way, not to make things more difficult than they were in the first place.

If you’d like to join the Flying Squad, let’s talk about that, too.
For information or to become a member, call (323) 790-6725 or email flyingsquadla@gmail.com
Or start a Chapter in your parish or community!

The Flying Squad is a program of Isaiah House of Los Angeles, Inc., a tax exempt 501c3 charity. Donations should be made out to Isaiah House “for the Flying Squad.”
